I Want You to be Happier
by Benjamin Kovacs on Oct 04, 2019
The pursuit of happiness makes its way in some form or another into most people's purpose in life. Whether that is through religion, career, marriage, and/or service, people spend their lives looking for activities and people that will bring the fulfillment that precedes true happiness.
Scientific studies have shown that those who are happier tend to live longer, have stronger immunity, and sleep better. Science has also shown that what ultimately builds this sense of happiness comes from fulfilling social connections, optimism and mental resilience, a sense of life purpose, and a few other factors.
Journeys such as finding your soul mate or self-reflective change might take time but there are small things you can incorporate into your everyday that will give you small spurts of happiness that can lead to a brighter day. Even if you are feeling down, doing these things or having these items around you might brighten your mood!
Here are our suggestions:
- Enjoy nature.
It's free! Even if you aren't an outdoorsy person, taking a walk in your neighborhood or going to a structured public park can be beneficial! But if you are up for the challenge, try to get lost in the woods (safely).
- Listen to a podcast.
As a kid, I felt like podcasts were always for older folks, but now that I am in my mid-twenties, I find them to be extremely fulfilling! There are comedies, educational content, or just groups of people talking about their opinions. The variety is huge and there is definitely one that you will find interesting and that will fit your mood.
- Surround yourself with beauty...
...in a non-superficial way and in whatever way true beauty resonates with you. A great and ubiquitous way to do this is with roses. Bountiful blooms can fill your heart with joy and, luckily, The Royal Rose has got your back and eyes with unique and fresh creations. Specializing in preserved roses, our flowers will last up to a year so this type of beauty is everlasting.
