Self-Care and Self-Love: Love Yourself with All Five Love Languages Part 1
by Benjamin Kovacs on Nov 08, 2019
There's a difference between self-care and self-love even though many people use the terms interchangeably. Self-love is the internal awareness and regard for one's own wellbeing and happiness. Self-care is a component of self-love where you do an activity to nurture your mental, physical, and spiritual health.
Sometimes we can be at a loss of how to practice self love. A good general rule of thumb is to treat yourself with the same kindness and respect as you would a loved one. But sometime doing activities in the form of self care can help us get closer to loving ourselves. A good paradigm to do this through the love languages.
Classically, we think of love languages as ways to love other people, but we can also turn it around to love ourselves. If you don't know your love languages or what these are, take a look at this website 5lovelanguages.com. Knowing your love language roster will be helpful for your daily life as well as in the next several blogs.
In the next series of blogs, we will explore how to do this and how The Royal Rose can be a part of your important and personal journey.
